Sri Shirdi Sai Vidya Niketan is a 21st century school a "School with a Soul".

Leading together, we set out to be a model of excellence in learning. We provide an ambience where education is not judged on the basis of marks and ranks. We spot out the potential the child possesses and turn them to the face of their real talent because we believe that every child is born unique with different level of capabilities and talent. The only part left is, to recognize and appreciate it. Hence we work towards sustaining a conscious shift from making children study to letting children learn. But our ultimate objective is to produce young citizens who are not only bilingual but also equi-lingual in Hindi [national link language] and English [international link language]. English of course is a core subject throughout from Class I to X.

The emphasis is:

Student - Teacher Interactions

Providing support for improving the quality of teacher-student interactions for ultimate student learning is our distinctive facet.

The CLASS describes ten dimensions of teaching that are linked to student achievement and social development. Each of the ten dimensions falls into one of three broad categories: emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support.

Emotional Support refers to the ways teachers help children develop warm, supportive relationships, experience enjoyment and excitement about learning, feel comfortable in the classroom, and experience appropriate levels of autonomy or independence. This includes:

  • Positive climate — the enjoyment and emotional connection that teachers have with students, as well as the nature of peer interactions
  • Negative climate — the level of expressed negativity such as anger, hostility or aggression exhibited by teachers /or students in the classroom
  • Teacher sensitivity — teachers’ responsiveness to students’ academic and emotional needs and
  • Regard for student perspectives — the degree to which teachers’ interactions with students and classroom activities place an emphasis on students’ interests, motivations, and points of view.

Classroom Organization refers to the ways teachers help children develop skills to regulate their own behaviour, get the most learning out of each school day, and maintain interest in learning activities. This includes

  • Behaviour management — how well teachers monitor, prevent, and redirect misbehaviour
  • Productivity — how well the classroom runs with respect to routines, how well students understand the routine, and the degree to which teachers provide activities and directions so that maximum time can be spent in learning activities; and
  • Instructional learning formats — how teachers engage students in activities and facilitate activities so that learning opportunities are maximized.

Instructional Support refers to the ways in which teachers effectively support students’ cognitive development and language growth. This includes

  • Concept development — how teachers use instructional discussions and activities to promote students’ higher-order thinking skills and cognition in contrast to a focus on rote instruction
  • Quality of feedback — how teachers expand participation and learning through feedback to students.
  • Language modelling — the extent to which teachers stimulate, facilitate, and encourage students’ language use.

Remedial Classes

Each child is different in terms of learning ability, academic standards, classroom teaching learning and academic performance and each has his own in learning. The aim of remedial classes is to provide learning support to pupils who lag far behind their counterparts in school performance.

We at Sri Shirdi Sai provides intensive remedial support to help pupils consolidate their basic knowledge in different subjects, master the learning methods, strengthen their confidence & enhance the effectiveness of learning through.

The DTT Process

We believe effective teaching is underpinned by the DTT (DIAGNOSIS – THERAPY – TESTING) PROCESS.

  • Diagnosis : we find out what the students already know or can do e.g. questions, test.
  • Therapy : we design specific tasks to ensure students are supported and challenged to make progress.
  • Testing : The students’ work is assessed to ensure they have ‘mastered’ the skill or knowledge.

Our small, personalized classes are led by an engaged and accomplished faculty. Career and academic counselling are also available. Ours is a Strengths-Based Institution, helping one first determine one’s own personal strengths, and then strategizes with one to maximize those strengths in one’s academic and career choices.
